Race Results 2003-2004
This season we worked solely toward a goal of running the Beargrease 150. This would be the longest race of our career and one that would test the endurance of both team and driver. Craftsbury - G. Stone Motors 60 Driver: Bob O'Hearn Finishing time of 5:48:14 Our dogs received recognition from the Veterinarian team, for being the best cared for. This comes as a great surprise since up to this point in the season, we have been overly concerned about our team's feet and weight. Stratford Nighthawks Sled Dog Race (30 mile - 8 dog class) Driver: Bob O'Hearn Finishing time of 3:09:40 Considering the soft trail conditions and coming off a 7 hour training run last weekend, we were extremely pleased with how the dogs did in this race. Trappers Special (30/30 - 10 dog limit) Driver: Bob O'Hearn Finishing time of 2:18:33 on Saturday with Allie & Nikki in lead Finishing time of 2:23:29 on Sunday with Steel & Rocky in lead. Ran a team of 9 dogs both days and finished first in his class. Allagash and Rocky completed the last leg towards their SDX. For fun, Rhonda ran the remaining five in the 6 dog pro sprint class. Can Am Crown LS - 60 Driver: Rhonda Hendry O'Hearn Finished 8th out of 16 teams with a time of 6:40:05 This was the first time Rhonda competed in a race over 30 miles in length. Jello and Saint completed the last leg toward their SDO!! John Beargrease Mid-Distance Sled Dog Race Driver: Bob O'Hearn Finished 35th out of a field of 50 competitors with 7 dogs at 1:49 PM on Monday afternoon after about 13.5 hours of run time and 9 hours of rest. |
